WHC’s Corporate Wildlife Habitat Certification/International Accreditation Program recognizes programs that focus on wildlife habitat and biodiversity, as well as conservation education. Restoration, creation, protection and enhancement of habitat and individual species management are among the types of Wildlife at Work programs that qualify for accreditation. Certified environmental education programs, through WHC’s Corporate Lands for Learning program, include cooperative efforts with schools using corporate lands for outdoor classrooms, or involving employees in one-to-one mentoring with students.
Certification criteria are stringent and applications require full documentation of activity. For a program to be eligible for Wildlife at Work certification, the site must have been visited at least once by a WHC biologist. For a program to be eligible for Corporate Lands for Learning certification, the site must have been visited at least once by a WHC education specialist. To schedule a site visit, contact WHC.
