Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL), a certification program of the Wildlife Habitat Council, opens doors to experience innovative teaching and learning techniques and the opportunity to involve your community in your conservation efforts.

CLL programs foster in learners, both children and adults, a clear understanding of the interdependence of ecology, economics and social structures in both urban and rural areas.

Groups who will benefit from your efforts in establishing your CLL program: 

• Students will use your habitat as an "outdoor classroom," building essential knowledge in key concepts and skills;                                  
• Scout groups can earn merit badges while assisting your team in habitat establishment, management or monitoring;                                  
• College students and professors may conduct research or class studies in your habitat while providing your site with valuable information;                                  
• Members of the community connect to the environment and learn about your company’s role as a thoughtful steward of the environment through nature trails and special events featuring your Wildlife at Work program.

Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) Certification
CLL certification provides your site with third party recognition for educational programs. Certification also provides these sites with guidance on building, expanding, and evaluating your education and outreach programs. Apply for CLL certification 

In order for a site to be certified as a CLL, the following requirements must be met: .

• Sites must record at least ten "hours of active learning", in the year prior to application for certification (and in each successive year).
• Sites must host a site visit from a representative of WHC’s Education and Outreach Department.

Exemplary CLL sites are considered for the annual 'Corporate Lands for Learning of the Year' award and the 'CLL Rookie of the Year' award, given out at the WHC Annual Symposium. These awards are designed to recognize sites for outstanding environmental education programs and voluntary employee efforts.

Attention active WHC sites!

WHC has an introductory program for wildlife teams who wish to initiate the path to CLL and Wildlife at Work certification. Any active WHC team conducting educational or outreach activities can register their program as a Conservation Education Site (CES). WHC staff will assist your team in building your education program as you work towards full CLL and Wildlife at Work certification. Learn more about CES!

Waste Management, Inc.'s Alliance Landfill in Pennsylvania offers Camp Kestrel, an outdoor learning event that highlights their habitat and landfill operations to hundreds of students. Here, students have helped plant a pollinator garden. This site won the Corporate Lands for Learning of the Year Award at the WHC annual Symosium in 2008.
