Project Honored as One of Detroit Free Press’ Michigan Green Leaders

Wildlife Habitat Council’s Huron to Erie Waterways for Wildlife Project was one of 16 entities honored by the Detroit Free Press in the regional daily’s first round of environmental awards. More than 350 nominees were submitted for this statewide honor.

The Free Press established the awards to “to identify the best practices and the true leaders pulling us forward” toward a sustainable future, said Free Press Deputy Managing Editor Randy Essex. Other awardees included educators, green business entrepreneurs, activists, and corporate leaders like Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr.
