Invasive Plant Management Workshop
October 26, 2007

The Wildlife Habitat Council invites you to an invasive plant management workshop being held at Fort Belvoir,Virginia, on Friday, October 26, 2007. The workshop, sponsored by the Department of Defense (DOD) Legacy Resource Management Program, will take place at the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) building in the Tompkins basin area of Fort Belvoir (directions below).

The workshop will focus on invasive species management at Department of Defense installations in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. There is no fee to attend the event, and any community groups or members interested in invasive species are encouraged to attend as well. We look forward to seeing you.

Directions to Workshop:

General directions to Fort Belvoir from points north and south.
Fort Belvoir Access Control Information

1)Enter Fort Belvoir at Tulley Gate, intersection of Richmond Highway (1) and Pohick/Backlick Roads. Traveling south on Richmond Highway, take a left at the stop light to enter Tulley gate. Traveling north on Richmond Highway, take a right at the stop light to enter Tulley gate. There is a sign for Tulley Gate on the Pohick Road side of the intersection.

2) After passing through security, proceed up the hill and take a right at the first stop light onto Thoete Rd.

3) Follow Thoete Rd and keep right at the fork to continue a short distance to Warren Rd (stop sign).

4) Turn right onto Warren Rd and follow it down the hill (Warren Road turns into Deakyne Rd).

5) Turn right at the bottom of the hill onto Swift Rd. The MWR building will be ahead on the right.

Parkingwill be available at the MWR building. Additional parking can be found a short distance beyond, along Deakyne Rd.
