  • 2008 Earth Day Observance: NSSGA and Wildlife Habitat Council Announce Memorandum of Understanding
    ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 17— Recognizing the April 22 observance of Earth Day, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes a framework for the cooperation between NSSGA and WHC to work with industry to encourage participation in the programs of each organization and to engage and demonstrate voluntary corporate leadership in environmental performance, including enhancement and restoration of wildlife habitat.
  • Wildlife Habitat Council and U.S. EPA Performance Track Recognize 3M
    The Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) National Environmental Performance Track program presented, a special honor of recognition to 3M on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, during WHC's 19th Annual Symposium, The Value of Green, in Baltimore, Maryland. Jean B. Sweeney, 3M Vice President, Environmental, Health and Safety Operations, accepted on behalf of the company. This acknowledgement distinguishes the 3M Decatur facility in Alabama for its commitment to outstanding environmental leadership and wildlife habitat enhancement and restoration as a member of both the Performance Track Program and WHC.
  • Wildlife Habitat Council Announces Signatures of Sustainability
    The Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) announces its newest program, Signatures of Sustainability. A Signature of Sustainability is a habitat program that demonstrates the potential of voluntary private sector involvement for biodiversity conservation. Signatures of Sustainability celebrate how far WHC has come and, more importantly, chart the future. The Signatures of Sustainability were announced at WHC's 19th Annual Symposium, The Value of Green, to mark the beginning of WHC's 20th Anniversary celebration.

  • Dow Wetlands Preserve in Antioch to Receive Prestigious Signature of Sustainability
    The Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) will be at the Dow Wetlands Preserve on Monday, May 12 to present The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) with a new designation - the Signature of Sustainability. Dow is one of only a dozen corporations nationwide to receive this recognition.
  • Monsanto Company Receives Signature of Sustainability Designation
    Monsanto Company's Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve was recognized as a Signature of Sustainability by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) for its employees' outstanding commitment to biodiversity and conservation education. The Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve was one of only 21 WHC certified programs to receive this designation.
  • NJ DEP Commissioner Recognizes Wyeth Bound Brook
    New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Lisa P. Jackson recognized Wyeth Holdings Corp. for their efforts to integrate environmental stewardship practices into their operations. The DEP's Environmental Stewardship Program offers public acknowledgement to those who adopt practices that exceed what is required of them by laws and regulations. The DEP then showcases these achievements as incentive for others to follow.
