In addition to working with member company employees to design and certify wildlife habitat enhancement and conservation education programs, the Wildlife Habitat Council also works at certain facilities to actively implement and manage these programs.
The programs often serve as case studies for best practices or as models for other landowners.
New Beginnings – The Woodlawn Wildlife Area, was the first of these Council Managed Programs. Owned by Bridgestone Americas Holding, the northeastern Maryland facility is managed in partnership with the Council and other stakeholders. The program continues to be a strong example of successful land revitalization, invasive species management and community involvement.
