WHC's online quarterly newsletter, the Wildlife Habitat, features stories on corporate sites, highlighting member accomplishments and commitments for the benefit of wildlife habitat enhancement. Announcements on upcoming conferences, awards and program deadlines pertinent to WHC members are also provided. This service is offered FREE to members. Members are also encouraged to submit articles of their own along with photos showcasing their projects and efforts.

  • Environmental Education Take Flight with Community and Corporate Partnerships
    The scene is a wooded landscape, not far from the local school. Fourth grade students are exploring a pond ecosystem by observing macro-organisms scooped from the mucky bottom and from the water itself. Trained volunteers shepherd the students through the learning process, not merely imparting wisdom, but letting the young scientists discover it for themselves. Concepts and skills developed using Science & Technology for Children Modules in the classroom are applied in outdoor learning laboratories. You may be surprised to learn that these exceptional learning experiences take place on corporate landscapes. More than 50 companies have earned Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) accreditation through the Wildlife Habitat Council's Corporate Wildlife Habitat Certification/International Accreditation Program, which recognizes commendable wildlife habitat management and environmental education programs at individual sites.
