Executive Coordinator

Job Location: Hybrid: Remote and 2 days a week in the Bethesda, MD office.

WHC is recruiting for a Coordinator to work directly with Senior Leadership, reporting to the President.  

The Coordinator supports the President and Senior Leadership with internal and external projects, ranging from development/implementation of processes, time management and organizational needs. Success in this role is dependent on a superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities is critical. The Coordinator will be involved in all aspects of the organization and as such, is in a unique position to advance in the organization after successfully demonstrating an exceptional and varied level of abilities.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Work with leadership to monitor and communicate progress towards goals 
  • Provide tactical support to implement ideas 
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of organizational operations such as managing tech, physical mail and meeting logistics 
  • Perform administrative tasks in support of senior leadership such as scheduling meetings, arranging travel and staffing board meetings 
  • Plan and coordinate staff and sr. Staff meetings and support planning of staff retreats 
  • Identify and provide recommendations on improvements across the organization 
  • Respond to inquiries on behalf of the President 

Desired Qualifications 

  • At least 2 years of work experience; corporate experience a plus 
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience. Non-traditional educational paths welcomed. 
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing priorities 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; possession of strong time management skills 
  • Comfortable working independently and virtually/remotely  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Computer skills must include MS Office (Word, Excel, Dynamics CRM, PowerPoint) 
  • Passion for WHC mission, vision and values 

Location: Candidate must be local to the DMV area.  

The position allows for remote work with an expectation of 2 days a week in the downtown Bethesda, MD office.  


Infrequent but occasional travel is to be expected. The successful candidate will be required to work at the Conservation Conference (locations vary year to year, Baltimore in 2023, New Orleans in 2024) and stay in a hotel for 4-5 consecutive working days once a year, as well as attend twice yearly in-person staff retreats.
