As Conservation Specialist II, Joel assists WHC members and prospective members with initiation of sound biodiversity and conservation education programs, as well as maintenance and improvement of existing programs.
Prior to joining WHC, Joel was an ecological consultant in the Pacific Northwest where he managed projects focused on wildlife and wetlands, and was then a conservation planner at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in Silver Spring, MD.
Joel received B.S. and M.S. degrees in wildlife management at Purdue University and Texas Tech University, respectively, and graduate certificates in Tropical Conservation and Protected Area Management at James Cook University in Queensland, Australia.
