Last Year’s Event

Thank you to all the members, partners, and individuals who made the Wildlife Habitat Council’s 26th Annual Symposium, Celebrating Corporate Conservation, a huge success!

Keynote-Speech-2-300x200Andrew Winston, noted author and globally recognized expert on green business strategy, provided the keynote address. Andrew discussed his new book, The Big Pivot, and illustrated why companies need to develop “radically practical strategies for a hotter, scarcer and more open world.” Taking examples from across the world, Andrew examined what he called the mega challenges of climate change, scarcity, and radical transparency, and showed how companies can implement 10 strategies to move boldly forward in a new reality.

Our plenary session was facilitated by Christine Bader, author of The Evolution of a Corporate Idealist: When Girl Meets Oil, who brought her unique perspective on corporate social responsibility. Christine was joined by Bill Cobb, Vice President of Environmental Services & Sustainable Development, Freeport-McMoRan Inc., Jim Rushworth, Vice President Environment and Public Affairs Quarries, Aggregates and Concrete, Lafarge, and Sheryl Telford, Director, Corporate Remediation, DuPont Company. Each of these individuals brought a different perspective on what it means to push for change from the inside and act as a champion for environment and community.

WHC also thanks the organizations and companies that sponsored and exhibited at our Annual Symposium.
