Our response to coronavirus (Covid-19) with regard to
WHC Certification applications

The impact of the current pandemic continues to grow around the world with great human and economic cost. We at WHC understand the safety and health of our members and the communities they serve are of the utmost importance.

Accommodations for programs affected by Covid-19
During this time, maintenance, monitoring, education and other conservation activities may be challenging at best, impossible at worst. Certification applications now include a series of questions about the impact of Covid-19 on your conservation projects. If continuity of a project (management and monitoring, education efforts etc.) is disrupted by the pandemic, please detail the impacts in your answers. All information provided will be considered in the review. Please note: The base requirements for WHC Certification remain the same. As a result, if you have a new program with less than a full year’s worth of monitoring for a habitat or species project, please contact us for guidance before submitting an application. Applications submitted by July 15, 2021 will be eligible for the 2021 Ibis Award which will recognize a program that has demonstrated resiliency of spirit and advancement of conservation despite shutdowns, quarantines and changes in the workplace.
