About the Program
Villa Rica Quarry, a part of Vulcan Materials, is located in Villa Rica Georgia approximately 35 miles West of Atlanta. Like in much of the Southeast, white-tailed deer populations in this region have become key species for management officials due to the economic importance of this species paired with increased human-wildlife conflicts. To help address this issue, the team has implemented a nutrition and population management plan on their property.

- The team installed two native food plots to provide foraging habitat for white-tailed deer.
- Employees monitor plant survival and food plot use through active surveillance and camera monitoring.
- Team members are actively involved in population management through sustainable hunting. Three deer have been harvested since the project began in late 2018.
