Practices and Impacts
  • A longstanding project, the Bridgestone Environmental Education Classroom and Habitat (BEECH) was developed in partnership with Warren County Schools in 2008. The goal of the project is to provide hands-on, outdoor learning opportunities that are aligned with state standards. Annually, the team¬†reaches 800 students, grades Pre K-8th throughout several Tennessee school districts. Among a myriad of available lessons, students learn about blue birds that reside in the nest boxes on site, grasslands and how to manage invasive species, the relationship between plants and pollinators, the importance of food webs, the impact of disease on forests, and how to sample macro-invertebrates from ponds.
