About the Program

3M Cottage Grove, a part of 3M, is located in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, along the banks of the Mississippi River. Unfortunately, this site is located in an area that has experienced dramatic urbanization during recent decades resulting in marked declines in available habitat for wildlife species across all taxa. Specifically, the state of Minnesota has seen dramatic loss of prairie habitat. To help address this issue the team manages over 600 acres of mixed habitat with a focus on natural prairie.

Practices and Impacts

• Team members regularly reseed a 600 acre prairie habitat to preserve native species composition
• Team members monitor state protected avian species that breed on site
