About the Program
The Holcim, Prescott, Arkansas program is located in Prescott, Arkansas, about 100 miles southwest of Little Rock. The five-acre site includes a nature trail, multiple ponds, a pollinator garden and a native grassland. The objective of this project was to educate Boy Scout Troop 19 on the purpose of protected lands/habitats and their relationships with bird and tree species.
Practices and Impacts
- On August 27, 2022, the team hosted the local Boy Scout Troop 19 for a special education day to earn their conservation merit badge. During this event, the Arkansas Game and Fish Warden provided information packets to the young men, focused on various bird species that are native to Arkansas.
- The team also planted four new trees in the landscaped habitat area on-site.
