About the Program
Bayer’s Constantine Production Plant is located near Constantine, Michigan. Here, in an area surrounded by farm fields, the team at Bayer manage 2.55 acres of native grassland habitat for the benefit of local wildlife.

Practices and Impacts
  • Beginning in 2008, the team at Bayer began an effort to restore native grassland habitat to an area of otherwise unused native grassland soils. The team surveys the plant species present in the habitat annually, with an eye towards managing the habitat to support native pollinator species.
  • The team also placed three carpenter bee host stations and two butterfly boxes on-site to attract native pollinators.
  • The team monitors 12 bluebird and woodpecker nesting boxes that have been placed around the retention pond.
