About the Program
The project is part of the Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant, which is an active wastewater treatment facility located along the shoreline of Lake Ontario in the City of Pickering, Ontario, 25 miles northeast of Toronto, Canada. The project area is approximately 10.5 acres and consists of upland grass habitats. Conservation objectives for this project include: planting native species to help establish community function for upland areas, create natural buffer zone between a facility and wetland complex, and enhance wildlife habitat.
