About the Program
The Tampa Cement Grinding Plant is located just North of Tampa, Florida, off the Tampa Bay. The program is implemented and managed by Argos USA Corporation, which also actively operates the cement plant. The cement plant incorporates a small landscaped pollinator garden consisting of native species to attract pollinator species that will both promote pollinator species growth and native plant species growth. The project also provides a nesting platform for native osprey that is monitored periodically through the nesting season.

Practices and Impacts
- Located near the industrial structures on the Tampa cement plant is a 200-square-foot pollinator garden that has been managed and monitored for the past three years to attract native pollinating species. Argos USA employees, with help from Sweet Bay Nursery, participate in removing invasive species as well as monitoring species success and pollinators present. In February 2020, all the plants were removed due to overgrowth and lack of pollinator species. New plants were then planted in November 2020.
- The project implemented a nesting platform to provide safe nesting habitat for osprey. The nest typically hosts two osprey and one juvenile per season.
