About the Program
The Bayer Crop Sciences Waco Seed Production site is located approximately 45 miles west of Lincoln, NE. Bayer has a strong commitment to sustainability and the environment. To that end, the team enhanced the site's grassland habitat with native pollinator plant species in order to provide an abundant food source to Monarch butterflies and other native pollinators.

Practices and Impacts
  • The team monitors the site's grassland habitat for pollinator species in July, August, and September. Insect species are identified and noted and plant leaves are checked for monarch butterfly instars.
  • Invasive species are also monitored and treated with¬†chemical or manual methods to maintain the pollinator grassland habitat.
