About the Program
The Boeing Plant 2 program is located on the Duwamish River in King County, Washington. The Duwamish River forms the lower part of the Green River. The Boeing Plant 2 project incorporates five acres of habitat in an area which had been detrimentally impacted by development. Restoring the site by reconstructing a natural landscape and maintaining native trees, shrubs and grasses has brought native wildlife back to the area, including salmon species.

Practices and Impacts
  • At this site, the team is restoring five acres of riparian and intertidal wetland habitat.
  • The project benefits from regular maintenance and monitoring to assess and meet habitat needs, such as retaining woody debris in place to create shelter and adding native plants.
  • Monitoring has confirmed presence of native fish including salmonids, and the team coordinates with a local forum aiming to help restore habitat for salmon along the river.
