About the Program
The Colorado River Bike Trail Program undertaken by CRH Americas Materials Inc. is a conservation program aimed at controlling invasive weeds and educating the local community of their work at this one-acre area in northwestern Colorado. The project team aims to control invasive plants through various methods to restore desert and river bank habitats along the Colorado River.

Practices and Impacts
  • The 1.06-acre desert habitat is managed through an irrigation system, and desert habitat plant species are actively monitored.
  • The 1.11-acre wetland habitat is managed through removing invasive species and is actively monitored, with multiple dry land and wetland invasive species being removed.
  • An educational event occurs on-site, where local school groups receive 1.5 hours of education on water conservation.
