Monheim

Introduction
Bayer’s Crop Science campus just outside of Monheim, Germany, is located in an urban/suburban area where native habitats have been reduced. To help address this issue the team, is actively involved in numerous efforts to sustain the environment around them.

Practices and Impacts

• The project team began reducing the amount of lawn on-site and transitioning much of the lawn into a bulbous oat grass meadow. The area being managed is a total of one hectare, or 2.47 acres. 
• Staff conduct the monitoring and utilize a community science approach, uploading their observations into the Observation.org program for tracking and mapping in the Bioblitz section.
