Indy Ops Pollinator Habitat Landscaped

About the Program
Allegion’s Indy Ops Landscape Program is located about 10 miles east of Indianapolis, Indiana. The security manufacturing and distributing plant is situated in an industrial area surrounded by residential communities. The Indy Ops conservation objective is to create a pollinator landscape for native pollinators. This project aligns with the Indiana Pollinator Protection Plan by maintaining a pesticide-free landscaped area.

Practices and Impacts

• In 2021, the team removed a paved area next to their building and installed a landscaped garden for pollinators
• Team members maintain the site through weeding and watering to ensure plant survival.
• Plants are documented during the growing season to monitor for plant survival and native pollinator use.
