About the Program
The Anderson Landfill (ALI) located in the Central Valley Geologic Province of California and southwestern part of the Redding groundwater basin aims to provide habitat for a variety of local wildlife with an emphasis on western bluebirds. With 1000 acres of grassland habitat available on site and the use of bluebird nesting boxes, ALI does a great job of encouraging use for this native species.

Practices and Impacts
  • Bluebird boxes were installed back in 2011 and have been monitored monthly and sometimes weekly for use. Boxes are maintained and replaced if damaged to encouarage occupancy.
