About the Program
The Bayer plant in Windfall, Indiana, is located approximately 50 miles south of Indianapolis. The site includes the crop sciences division and the production of agricultural seed. The team manages and monitors pollinator habitat in the area, with the goal of increasing the number of native pollinators and educating their employees and the public about the importance of pollinators, especially in agriculture.

Practices and Impacts
  • The on-site pollinator habitat provides foraging and nesting space for a suite of pollinator species. A pond was added to provide a water source for pollinators.
  • The team monitors pollinator activity each month throughout the summer. Bees, butterflies, wasps and flies have all been observed using the habitat.
