About the Program
American Transmission Company (ATC) Headquarters is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just west of Milwaukee. ATC is actively managing 6 acres of grassland habitat. The conservation objectives include increasing the diversity of native plant species, so more wildlife species are supported. 

Practices and Impacts

• Ongoing management activities include prescribed fires, native plug planting, native seed planting, targeted management of invasive species, and an annual floristic quality assessment.
• In 2020, the team documented 64 different native grassland plant species on the site, compared to just 19 native species when the project began.
